Real-time Chat for Operators/Coordinators/Moderators
Parthenon built an improved conference watch and admin system with a back end of Python/Django, and a front end of Javascript/HTML5. This includes a full behind-the-scenes chat system for operators, real-time Q&A ordering, real-time bridge control (muting, voice, &c.), multi-bridge participant list merging/control, and integration with their primary order system. The system is modular and can do more than just Spectel, as long as the other bridges have real-time APIs as well that can be interfaced with. It's compatible with all modern browsers, including IE8 on up.
Custom Learning Management
In November 2011, a large online University contacted Parthenon asking for assistance in building multiple Learning Management Systems (LMS) for their course offerings. As Parthenon delivered quality code and on time, this 3 year project with 2 developers became 7 developers working on additional projects for them. Most recently, the university asked for 6 more developers for a new project.
Website Re-vamp & Custom Automated Printing Processes
A printing company that produces business cards, brochures and other similar products came Parthenon's way in December 2011. They were looking for some updates to their website and asked Parthenon for help. At present, Parthenon continues to revamp their website; automating the printing process so print jobs can be sent to the company on-line. We have also created template pages which allow for more effective indexing.
Resume Portals
Parthenon Software Group has also done work for a company with connections to major car companies. This company focuses on interactive multimedia, digital branding, e-learning and art & design. As such, Parthenon was sub-contracted to work on a portal for one of their clients. This portal allows contractors to post their resumes and other information on-line so the company has a central place for their contractors and can thereby present them to their clients.
International Reservations & Arrangements
An international camper and rental company sought Parthenon's assistance in September 2010. This company caters to travelers across the globe. Reservations and arrangements are made on the company website. Having experienced everything from cosmetic errors to payment and server issues, they asked Parthenon to help them resolve the problems. Since there were numerous issues with the previous site, Parthenon ended up taking a design from Harlo Interactive and created a brand new site for the rental company.
International Dating Made Simple
Parthenon was asked to write an online dating site with a strong emphasis on live video and location-based matching. We built the site in Python/Django, with a Postgres backend using PostGIS extensions, and a chat system using Web Sockets with node.js routed through RabbitMQ to the Python backend. The video system was a hybrid Javascript/HTML5/Flex app. The Flex part was used for the actual video streaming/broadcasting. The system allows for 5 simultaneous video feeds, though it could probably do more. 5 was the limit as allowing more videos would get too confusing for the user.
Real Estate Site with Video Tours
In 2008, Parthenon was approached by a client that hosts a website on which video tours of available apartments can be viewed. They needed assistance in building the site and functionality. As such, Parthenon built re-brandable web landing pages which allow apartment managers to use their own real estate logos and color schemes. We also enabled a fast display and search system which uses the videos to gather statistics that allow the admin to determine which videos work and why. Furthermore, the system integrates with Google Maps and Google Base APIs to show the location of the listed apartments and makes them searchable on Google Earth.
Aviation Goes Mobile
Parthenon began doing business with an international aviation company in February 2012. This company is involved in various kinds of work, including work for security and military branches of the US Government. They were in the process of moving from clipboards to iPads when they sought our aid. Parthenon assisted them by writing a specialized iPad app to help cockpit operations run more efficiently. There was also talk of creating another custom app that would make maintenance manuals and other operations information available to pilots and company employees via iPad.
REST Interface Emulator Makes On-Line Shopping A Breeze
An on-line e-commerce company needed an interface to a Top 10 Retailer's websites REST (representational state transfer) interface from their store. However, there was a problem; the site does not have a REST interface. An official interface is still estimated at being a year out. In the end, Parthenon built a Python/Twisted application that emulated a REST interface, with the REST interface on one side and a caching screenscraper on the other. This screenscraper queried the retailer's website and updated the customer's cart accordingly, and completed sales with full PCI (payment card industry) compliance.
